The new David Livingstone Safari Lodge and Spa in Livingstone recently celebrated its grand opening on the banks of the Zambezi river in early 2008.
It spirals the arresting sight of the Victoria Falls, legendary walking safaris, breath-taking lakes and wetlands, an abundance of birds and wildlife, resplendent luxurious accommodation, all adding to a world of gracious living set against the backdrop of the thunderous falls.
As the African explorer, Sir David Livingstone said “I am prepared to go anywhere, provided it be forward,” so to has the lodge designing all 77 rooms facing forward, towards the falls that is.
And what a glorious view indeed; it’s all about the smoke that thunders or as the locals say “Mosi-oa-Tunya”..

Entering the lodge guests are magically transported back to the pioneering adventures of the early European explorers, where one can savour the true elegance of a bygone era.
Perfectly positioned on the banks of the mighty Zambezi, the new, spectacular two-story lodge, comprising 72 river facing rooms and 5 luxurious suites, all maximizing on stunning views of Siloka island.
Design and décor is quintessentially colonial varied with elements of raw stone, wood and earth, glamorized by gold, bronze, copper and ivory, all once traded on ancient Arab routes. A hint of Zanzibar décor compliments the alluring spice colours of the orient.
